Hillary vs Trump

 I am reading Hard Choices by Hilary Clinton and I can tell how intelligent and thoughtful she was when she was Secretary of State.  And in this debate I can see that she would have been a thoughtful and intelligent President she would have been.  

These debates are Donald Trump lying, talking out of his ass about things he doesn't know about, and that he owns property in every place he talks about.

I am not a person who gets into conspiracy theories, but I do believe Russia meddled in our 2016 election because Putin went up against Hillary Clinton when she was Secretary of State and he didn't like it.  Putin knew that he couldn't push her around because she is too intelligent to be his patsy.  And it is obvious to anyone who watched Trump's campaign that he is a fucking idiot who wishes he could be Putin, so he Putin had to be aware that Trump would kiss his ass.

And look where we are now ... All these crazy mother fuckers who think Trump won the 2020 election, including Trump himself and many members of Congress.

Post January 6, 2021 Insurrection

 

I am writing this many months later from musings I wrote at the time.  And Trump, several republicans from the Senate and the House, and other Trump crazies are still standing behind THE BIG LIE.

January 6, 2021:  The day the combined Congress was supposed to count the electoral college votes.  The votes are apparently paper, someone said they were in a ballot box.

Anyway, Trump, his sons, Rudy Giuliani, and some republican from the House of Representatives said that they needed to take back their government and some other incendiary things, all having to do with THE BIG LIE.  If you are not familiar with THE BIG LIE, it is Donald Trump's rallying cry that the election was stolen from him.  

Trump told his acolytes to go to the Capitol building and that he would be with them, that man just can't talk without lying.  His acolytes, of course, did what he said and about 1000+ of them stormed the Capitol.  I was watching the vote on CNN, so I saw the insurrection live.  I couldn't believe it, how could Americans do this, do they not like living in a democracy?  People died and now the Republicans, with the help of FOX News (and similar outlets) are trying to rewrite history by blaming the insurrection on "fake" Trump supporters to make Trump look bad.  Well, I have some news: TRUMP IS BAD.

WE HAVE A PANDEMIC RAVAGING OUR COUNTRY.  I don't understand why this is not everyone's focus and why instead of bringing the country together it is pushing us farther apart.  WEARING A MASK IS NOT A POLITICAL STATEMENT, IT IS A WAY TO PROTECT OURSELVES AND OTHERS FROM COVID-19 AND ALL ITS VARIATIONS.

I still can't believe that Donald Trump, host of The Apprentice, became our President - this should never have happened.  WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE.  We elected a racist, bigoted,  misogynist, and bully who doesn't know a damn thing about running a country to be our President.

And I know that you can't talk logically to Trump's acolytes because they do not think logically.

Barack Obama said, in his book "The Audacity of Hope" (pg. 219): "Politics, like science, depends on our ability to persuade each other of common aims based on a common reality."

The people of the United States of America no longer have a common reality.
